AJB awards CeBIT Winners

Business forecasting, ageless aerospace vehicles, analysis of human-computer interaction and eye-popping 3D virtual reality systems -- the solutions of Mondelio, the CSIRO, code&data and VR Solutions, were announced winners of the inaugural AJB Publishing CeBIT Awards yesterday.

AJB Publishing is pleased to announce its top four publications yesterday awarded their inaugural CeBIT Awards at the massive Darling Harbour exhibition centre yesterday afternoon.

Business forecasting, ageless aerospace vehicles, analysis of human-computer interaction and eye-popping 3D virtual reality systems, were recognised by the magazine editors as worthy winners in a hotly contested field of more than 50 entries.

AJB's publication for management executives, InformationWeek, awarded Mondelio its Best Innovation for Business Award, which recognised products or services offering the most potential benefit for business users.

Mondelio designed a corporate modelling and forecasting system, which is also called Mondelio. A company spokesman said the system enabled businesses to go further with their modelling than what is achievable with conventional online analytical processing  (OLAP) systems. He said it was the culmination of 20 years design, development and evolution.

Atomic Magazine, known colloquially as the "Geek's Bible", awarded the CSIRO its award for Most Innovative Technology, which recognised impressive new or redefined technology and that which is expected to have the greatest impact in its market space.

The CSIRO won the award for its Ageless Aerospace Vehicles -- that can monitor themselves and their environment, learn and adapt, and make and implement decisions. Initially for spacecraft micro-meteorite impact studies, the technology has potential for futher generic investigations into distributed intelligence in a multi-agent environment.

PC Authority, the ultimate technology magazine, gave code&data its Most Exciting New Product Award, which considered the product that most impressively showcases the latest technology and is sure to create great interest in the market. The award was for Morae, a digital solution which records and synchronises user and system data to enable better system and user interface development. The system synchronises real world actions such as user speech and facial expressions, with detailed application and computer system data to present system designers with a unique view into how their applications are being experienced.

CRN magazine's Best Channel Promotion award went to VR Solutions for its Eye Popping 3D solution, which integrates software, hardware, screen projectors, and 3D glasses, to show present viewers with real 3D views of interiors, exteriors, processes and products. Originally geared for architects and manufacturers the technology is arousing interest in businesses in which 3D visualisations boost sales, learning, training, and more economical design and manufacture.

The winners received a framed certificate and a bottle of champagne.
