Australian resellers Alphawest, Aston Business Solutions and Data#3 won global vendor accolades based on their enterprise-focused services.

Perth-based services provider Alphawest was named international partner of the year and best sales achiever for the Asia-Pacific region for 2003 by US-based integrated content management vendor Hummingbird.

The awards were presented at Hummingbird's recent global conference, Summit 2004, in the US.

A statement released by Hummingbird said partners were being acknowledged for "outstanding, innovative" deployments, "notable" sales achievements and commitment to new initiatives and business development with the vendor.

Alphawest had worked with Hummingbird for five years, the company said.

"In 2003, Alphawest outperformed all other partners in the Asia-Pacific market, engaging Hummingbird in a number of high profile sites in targeted vertical markets such as government, utilities, legal and transport to win the company International Partner of the Year Award," Hummingbird said.

Brisbane-based Aston Business Solutions (ABS) was awarded Gold Certified Partner status for Microsoft-Navision and Microsoft Axapta business software. The award makes ABS the only Microsoft partner in Australia to hold Gold certification in both those products.

Flemming Beisner, Australia and New Zealand business group director at Microsoft Business Solutions, said Microsoft was recognising ABS for its "demonstrated customer satisfaction" with Microsoft Business Solutions-Axapta and Microsoft Business Solutions-Navision implementations.

"This dual product certification highlights the fact that the Aston team has the skills and experience necessary to provide excellent ERP and B2B solutions using Microsoft technology," Beisner said.

Meanwhile, Sydney's Data#3 won an Asia-Pacific top business partner award for 2003 from IBM.

The award, which was presented to Data#3 at PartnerWorld forum in the US, recognised the company's revenue contribution to IBM's systems, software and services offerings.

Phil Bullock, CEO at IBM Australia, said business partners were increasingly important to IBM.

Data#3 has worked with IBM for 25 years.
