HP is rolling out a new version of its Business Service Automation (BSA) software.

The company said that the new BSA offering would aim to allow administrators to more effectively manage data centres which make used of virtualisation technology.

The new release includes updated versions of the HP storage essentials and operations orchestration tools.

The company hopes that the updated suite will reduce much of the complexity which arises when virtualised server systems are used. The update sports such new features as improved management of virtualised SAN systems and the ability to provisioning servers without the need for downtime.

"Unlike other vendors that focus only on virtualised infrastructure or individual infrastructure silos, HP offers an integrated server, storage, network, client and process automation solution to coordinate the deployment of IT applications in virtual and physical infrastructures," said Michel Feaster, HP senior director of business service automation software products.

Additionally, the company is planning to offer a new online service for the BSA suite. The subscription service will offer both support and best practice tips for administrators running virtualised server systems.
