Services firm CSC has won a $50 million three-year contract with the Western Australia Police Service to manage its desktops, hardware, applications and network.

Under the deal, which has an option of two one-year extensions, CSC will manage more than 4,000 desktop machines, 244 Windows servers and 48 Unix servers. The company will house and manage the WA police mainframe, and manage the police's communications network via a network centre. A team of around 60 CSC staff will manage the contract.

In a statement, Mike Shove, chief executive for CSC's Australian operations said: 'With this award the WA Police have delivered a massive vote of confidence in the team's professionalism, innovation and customer service.'
