The Australian Computer Society (ACS) has appointed Kim Denham as its new chief executive officer.

ACS national president, Kumar Parakala, said Denham’s experience across a range of executive roles and ICT disciplines would benefit the Society.

“Her extensive career includes work within government, the private sector, the public sector and the community. She has a passion for the industry, and her insight into the pressing issues affecting ICT such as careers, globalisation and professionalism is impressive,” Kumar said.

With more than 20 years experience in ICT, Denham has enjoyed stints at Ericsson Australia, West Australian Newspapers, Tourism Western Australia and CSBP Limited.

She was a finalist in the 2006 Telstra Business Women's Awards in WA and has worked on various boards, panels and steering committees, including the ACS WA Branch, ACS-W Board, ICT Industry Collaboration Centre in WA, Curtin University of Technology IS Advisory Board, Information Industry Forum in WA, WA Information Technology & Telecommunications Awards and Australian Telecommunications Users Group in WA.

Denham will relocate from Western Australian to the ACS National office in Sydney when she commences her new role towards the end of February.
