Vodafone today the announced arrival of BlackBerry Storm which will be the first "clickable" touch-screen smart phone, just in time for Christmas.

The Storm will be only be available on Vodafone's 3G mobile broadband.

Frank H Rovekamp of the Vodafone Group said, “We are delighted to bring the power of the BlackBerry Storm, purpose built for Vodafone, directly into the hands of consumer and business customers.“

The handset will have a clickable touch screen, multi-media features including browsing, music, video, Sat Nav and social network messaging.

This latest smartphone combines features from both Vodafone and BlackBerry with an aim of creating the best performance phone in time for the Christmas spending spree.

The 3.25" screen has a flat surface which gives the sensation of touching real keys hopefully moving away from the texting problems previous touch screen interfaces have caused.

The user will also be able to open, read and edit content on this smartphone on a 480 x 360 pixel screen which the user can have in either portrait or landscape mode.

The latest offering from RIM also has a removable battery with talk and standby time, and up to 16GB of exchangeable memory.

It will be available from next month through Vodafone stores as well as independent outlets and online, although pricing details are yet to be announced.
