Telecommunications and telesales personnel are toughing it out finding jobs in the employment market, new data from Seek Intelligence reveals.

Across Australia, telesales was the third hardest occupation in which to secure a position, the August jobs data shows.

In particular, NSW and South Australian job hunters were forced to battle hardest for the few call centre operator positions on offer.

By comparison, telecommunications jobs were most competitive in Queensland, and IT&T team leader positions hardest to secure in Western Australia.

However, science and technology researchers in Queensland was the fourth hardest position type to fill in the month of August, the data shows.
