As if the Facebook phenomenon hasn’t swept the nation quite enough – they’re now making a film based on it. Please, let this be better than Pirates of Silicon Valley
Thanks to the creator of The West Wing and a commission from Sony Pictures and Aaron Sorkin, this bright idea has been given the go-ahead.
Sorkin has a Facebook page dedicated to this film idea where he is apparently beginning research for the movie.
"I've just agreed to write a movie for Sony and producer Scott Rudin about how Facebook was invented," he explains. "I figured a good first step in my preparation would be finding out what Facebook is, so I've started this page.”
The gripping tale of twists and turns will follow the story of Mark Zuckerberg of Harvard University and how his small project made him a billionaire.
Details of the film plot are not yet known but rumour has it that the board room is desperately trying to think of anything to make this legend interesting – suspicion suggests that it will be heavily fictionalised.
