Porn mode coming for IE8

Microsoft's IE8 might get a 'private browsing' mode that will enable users to surf the net and not leave sticky... ahem... fingerprints.

Microsoft has gone to the trademark office and filed in two application forms. The first IC 009. US 021 023 026 036 038 is for a program for accessing and using the Internet and the world wide web which will delete search history after it leaves a website.

The second is C 009. US 021 023 026 036 038 which allows computer programs to disable the history and file caching features of a web browser; and computer software for notifying a user of a web browser when others are tracking web use and for controlling the information others can access about such use.

The big idea is already in the Mozzarella Foundations Firefox 3 browser so we are not sure how Microsoft could get a trademark on it.

We're struggling to find a use for this beyond looking at porn without getting rumbled.
