Laptop sales slump in Australia

When the Rudd Government decided to remove tax breaks on laptops bought for home use, and sales seemed to dry up overnight.
This is despite the fact that the government injected shedloads of cash into the economy in tax cuts to give tax payers more cash to spend.
Executive chairman of retail giant Harvey Norman, Gerry Harvey said parts of the computer trade had gone to a dead stop overnight.
Growth had slowed and other products had picked up the slack.
Harvey was worried about how sales would fare between now and Christmas. Sales of beds and furniture were propping up the company a bit, not to mention their customers we guess.
