Social networking site Facebook is planning to let other developers create services for its website.
The new services would run on special pages within the main site and could be shared by the site's users.
However, Facebook said that it does not currently plan to share any advertising revenues gleaned from the new services with the companies developing them.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Facebook will smash the US$38 million (A$46 million) funding it has received so far by generating almost US$150 million (A$183 million) revenue in 2007.
The site claims to have doubled its user base to more 23 million in the past six months, adding 100,000 users a day. Facebook claims more than 3.5 million users in the UK.
