Wireless ISP Unwired Australia has announced that it has partnered with Google for use of its search services.

Wireless ISP Unwired Australia has announced that it has partnered with Google for use of its search services.

The move will see the ASX-listed company and Google share advertising revenues from searches generated from Unwired’s customer homepage via Google’s AdSense for Search application.

This service displays advertisements relevant to a customer based on search request keywords.

Unwired CEO, David Spence, said in an ASX statement that search technology was becoming particularly important for users of mobile PCs.

“Internet users will increasingly demand services relevant to their specific location… and we intend to be able to cater to this demand,” he said.

The move would also provide a valuable new revenue stream for the ISP, Spence said.
