Yahoo! and Channel 7 have partnered to create a new content and search entity, Yahoo!7.

Three representatives from each company have come together to form a board of directors for the new company.
Yahoo! senior vice president of international operations, John Marcom, will head the board of Yahoo!7 as chairman.
As of yesterday, users of Channel 7's and Yahoo’s homepages were being directed to Yahoo7.com.au. The new page features content, search and commercial services similar to those originally found on their co-founders pages.
“Yahoo!7 will be able to add, enhance and create experiences around Seven’s content enriching viewer’s experiences through personalisation, communities and user-generated content,” according to a statement about the launch.
Yahoo!7 will also create a new revenue vehicle for Channel 7 and Yahoo!, providing an arena for print, broadcast and online to blend together.
According to Marcom, nearly five million Australians used Yahoo! services every month.
Seven Pacific Magazines division chairman, Ryan Stokes, said Yahoo!7 would be a leading platform to engage online audiences with the best global products and locally relevant media content for their connected lives.
