mcr Computer Resources has seen services revenue grow 400 percent in 2004 to reach 45 percent of the reseller’s total revenue.
Harry Vakili, chairman at Sydney-based mcr, said services was a key growth area for the company, which also supplies product from Sun, HP and Cisco Systems.
“2004 saw services revenue grow to 45 percent of our total revenue. This growth was most notable in systems management and support, with a 400 percent increase in services contracts,” he said.
Vakili said services revenue growth had been above expectations and was tipped to continue.
“To support the projected growth, we have taken on new personnel with a depth of experience in this area,” he said.
mcr was investing particularly in managed services, Vakili said.
mcr had hired a new sales manager, Margarite Boustani, and a new engineering manager, Geoff Bowker, to cope with the expected services demand.
Both had “strong services backgrounds”, mcr said in a statement.
Sun has also given mcr a Sun Services Representative gong for the second year in a row and the third year in the last four years.
“This award is particularly welcome as it validates our success in one of our key growth areas,” Vakili said.
