Data security integrator MCI Datacom has signed a contract to merge its business with Indonesian network security outfit PT InterIndo Global giving the company a springboard into Asia.

MCI is a managed security service provider which packages security hardware, internet connectivity and technical support and is Australia's first Fortinet Platinum partner.

Gavin Matthews, CIO at MCI Datacom said the merger gives the company a springboard into Asia. "MCI Datacom plans to expand its products and services into Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia within the next 12 months," he said in a statement.

PT InterIndo works within the government and private sector and has strategic relationships within the telecommunications and network security.

The merged company would be called Seccom Networks. It would offer managed security services throughout Asia, mainly to medium and large enterprises, the companies said.
