Airline Jetstar has shut down a promotional website, after some customers' details were inadvertently revealed.

Simon Westaway, manager of corporate relations at Jetstar, said that the site in question was a promotional website which offered discounted airfares as part of a radio promotion the airline was running in Tasmania over the weekend.

The site was shut down yesterday morning after a customer alerted the airline to the glitch. "We've sought to act on it straight away," he said.

According to Westaway, after they had booked some customers had inadvertently been able to view details of other passengers, such as names and the dates passengers were flying.

One customer had also seen the last four digits of a credit card number, he said.

Westaway stressed that under no circumstances were people able to view the complete credit card numbers, or other financial details of passengers.

The airline had been in contact with customers involved, he said. "From a privacy perspective we've sought to address the matter," Westaway said.
