Financial services provider Tower has hired integrator Integ Communication Solutions to replace its Australian communications network with Alcatel-based IP telephony.

Financial services provider Tower has hired integrator Integ Communication Solutions to replace its Australian communications network with Alcatel-based IP telephony.

Sydney-based Integ will install IP telephony, unified messaging and automated contact centre software in the $1 million deal, Integ said.

The project included training for all staff, assistance with change management, ongoing business and technology support, Alcatel OmniPCX Enterprise IP-based PBX and Alcatel OmniTouch Contact Centre systems.

Risk, superannuation and retirement specialist Tower Australia -- a subsidiary of Tower Group -- wanted to cut communications costs across its recently-expanded business, Integ said.

The company said Tower wanted to keep customer service high, reduce response times and glean more data on its customers. The financial services firm also wanted to improve communications between its internal divisions, Integ said.

David Callander, general manager at Tower, said the implementation had gone smoothly.

'It was important that Tower operated at full capacity and delivered to client expectations throughout the switchover process. This was achieved relatively seamlessly,' Callander said.

Ian Poole, CEO at Integ, said Tower had been a good company to work with.

Voice and data integrator Integ, a subsidiary of ASX-listed UXC, totals 99 staff in five Australian offices.
