The update addresses flaws in three of the company’s wireless router lines, including the Cisco Wireless LAN Controller, Catalyst 6500 Wireless Services Module, and Cisco Catalyst 3750 Integrated Wireless LAN Controller lines.Four vulnerabilities are addressed in the update. Three of the flaws could be exploited to cause a denial of service on the router, while a fourth could allow the attacker to gain escalated privileges and access a targeted system with full administration rights. The company noted that only the Wireless LAN Controller is subject to the escalated privilege vulnerability. None of the four vulnerabilities is currently believed to be exploited in the wild.Administrators can obtain the update as a free download from Cisco's web site. The company noted that other than installing the patch, there is no known way to mitigate the vulnerabilities.
