Verdict: A very useful utility when sharing photos

When capturing images it is always wise to use the highest possible quality settings for both resolution and compression. The problem with this is that the resulting images are normally too big to send by email. Pixresizer is a simple yet powerful utility for preparing images, either individually or in batches.

The interface is well designed, with all four steps visible at once. There are several preset sizes or you can specify one yourself. Pixresizer will keep the correct proportions of the image to avoid odd results.

The file format of the image can be kept, or changed into BMP, GIF, JPG, PNG or TIFF. Any accompanying EXIF data can be left with the file or discarded. Images can even be rotated or printed directly from Pixresizer.

Pixresizer can also work with entire folders of images. Simply select the original folder and a new folder for the smaller images. Subfolders can be included if required.
