Bugatron is reminiscent of those early arcade conversions on the Commodore 64 and other machines, although with better graphics.

Basically you control a spacecraft as it flies through space, with the aim of clearing each level of the various formations of enemies that attack you.

Completely clear a level, or do particularly well with one formation, and you are rewarded with a bonus, which could be anything from better weapons to an extra life. Be careful though, some bonuses are nasty.

The further you progress the harder it gets, as you would imagine, although it is never going to pose too much of a challenge for arcade aficionados.

Nothing new, but an engrossing way to spend a spare half an hour or so. This version has 16 levels, while the registered version comes complete with over 80 levels.
